Itinerary
Day 1: meet your guides at the airport of El Hierro and shuttle. Check into your room at hotel and admire the great Dunes of Maspalomas (accommodation in Frontera) Day 2: our first hike will take us up to the chain of volcanoes, the forest of junipers and the Ermit of La Virgen de Los Reyes. We will visit Orchilla lighthouse, what they used to consider the Zero Meridiano and, on our way back, you will be surprised with the volcanic landscape and the unique lava formations along the coast. (accommodation in Frontera) Day 3: Transfer to the peak Malpaso (1501 m) to enjoy, on a clear day, a fascinating view from where we might see other islands. On our today’s journey we walk alongside the crest towards the laurisilva forest in La Llanía. (accommodation in Frontera) Day 4: We will follow the legend of the Garoé, the Holy Sacred Tree, adored by the Bimbaches, the ancient inhabitants. We continue our journey until we get to Valverde, the only Canary capital city which is not by the ocean, and where the Camino de la Virgen ends. (accommodation in El Parador de El Hierro) Day 5: Hike down to Tacoron natural swimming pool from our home in El PInar, the 1501 headquarters. What about a sunset tour through the Sea of Tranquility, like on the Moon? (accommodation in El Parador de El Hierro) Day 6: We suggest a hike on the north or, for the most adventurous, a freediving try on the East of the Island, around Las Playas Monument. And then, our special Farewell dinner, where we will look back to what we have done around this magical week. Day 7: shuttle to the airport. Tour ends until your next 1501 Adventure! |
